Beyond prayer...

There are many people in our lives that we cherish, their friendship and memories we've shared with them.
In my Christian community that kind of love goes deeper.
It's almost like getting an instant family, no strings attached, no judgment but pure love.
You are the most blessed when you get people like the ones pictured above.
These women have been my confidence when I reached rock bottom according to world standards.
Besides support from my husband and my family, these ladies have shown me that being a Christian has many benefits.
I have seen Christ depicted through their actions towards me.
They have driven me home many times when I had countless autoimmune flare-ups.
They have gone to my house and spring cleaned, looked after my children, did my laundry when I could not lift a finger because of chronic pain.
I remember one time it was so hot at church, my husband was at work and I had driven to church with my kids.
By the end of the service I was out of strength, I will never forget how they sacrificed their Sunday afternoon and drove me home.
They go beyond just praying for me, they made an effort to understand my illness, nobody asked them to do that, it is in their nature, the character of Christ in them pushes for such care.
I am a firm believer in appreciating people every chance I get, not only on special occasions.
In the photo above there are a few of them that are not pictured. This does not mean that those are less important.
In life when you go through tough times you lose “friends”. I also was suddenly unpopular when I had these life challenges.
But this gang, they are a gem. They they don't care how you try to hide your pain they make an effort to mend your heart. They support you even when you start a business that eventually fails, no questions asked.
Starting this blog, they have cheered for me.
My family supports me because I am their blood. These women on the other hand may not be my blood relatives, but they are my spirit backbone.
In a nutshell this is what Christianity is, not a religion not an affiliation.
It's this unfathomable communion. No scholar can explain this kind of friendship. It goes beyond prayer and I choose to celebrate them today. - Avuyile Mngxitama-Diko #rookielifecoach
